SAT, ACT  Incorporation Announcement

   Talkster would like to announce the incorporation of formal test preparation, such as the College Board’s SAT, or its competitor, the ACT, which is required for freshman entry to many, but not all, English language universities around the world. 

 Our goal is to ease your child into what awaits them in future testing, by exposing them to weekly exercises and vocabulary building activities echoing the concepts and thinking skills your student will need to have a competitive edge above and beyond all others. 

 The long-term outcome will find your child comfortable and confident in approaching these kinds of tests. 

 All materials will be suited to the level of English your child is at, and is meant to familiarize the student to the formats found in the more complex tests they may take before applying to university. Starting with younger students, simple icon based vocabulary coupled with a corresponding fill-in-the-bubble answer sheet. Older, more advanced students will study vocabulary, analogies, fill in the blank, and reading comprehension worksheets. 

   As we at Talkster begin this slow-but-steady approach to benefiting your child, look for weekly worksheets or 20 minute, in class workshops and additional progress reports incorporated into the quarterly assessments.

SAT, ACT 준비 학습 안내

톡스터 학부모님께

   이번 톡스터에서 안내드릴 말씀은  공식적인 테스트에 대비한  전반적이고 총체적인 톡스터의 준비학습 에 대한 것입니다. 공식적인 테스트라 함은 세계 여러 곳에 있는 영어를 기반으로 하는 대학에서, 입학하고자 하는 학생들에게 요구하는 일종의 대학 입학 시험인 College Board의 SAT, 또는 그것에 경쟁되는 ACT 시험을 말합니다.  저희의 목표는 미래에 이러한 시험들을 기다리고 있는 우리 학생들이 매주 조금씩 이러한 시험에 필요한 연습과 어휘력 강화 활동, 반복적인 개념 파악과 생각 훈련을 통하여 장차, 다른 학생들과의 경쟁에서 그들을  뛰어넘어 우위에 설 수 있도록 하는 것입니다. 

   이러한 장기적인 준비의 결과는 우리 학생들이 이런 종류의 시험을 치를 때  훨씬 더 편하고 확신에 차도록 해 줄 것입니다.  모든 자료와 내용들은 여러분 자녀의 영어 레벨에 맞추게 될 것이며 이 것은 그들이 대학 진학 전에 치러야 하는  더 복잡한 시험들에서 전반적인 구성방식, 포멧을 알아내는 것에 익숙하게 하기 위함입니다.  어린 학생들인 경우, 간단한 아이콘을 기초로 하는 단어의 조합을  일치하도록 빈칸을 채우는 것부터 시작할 것입니다.  고학년이나 레벨이 높은 학생들의 경우에는  어휘, 비유, 빈칸 채우기와 독해 학습의 워크시트를 하게 될 것입니다.

   매주  20분 분량의  워크시트를 수업 중에 학습할 것이며 분기별 성적표에도 부가적으로 언급될 것입니다. 이와 같이 저희 톡스터는  여러분의 자녀에게 유익함을 주기 위해 천천히 그러나 꾸준하게 지속적으로 접근해 나갈 것입니다.
